Consistent development and delivery of social service and economic related programs with dedicated, caring employees has been ETHRA’s mission since the Agency was established in 1974. This regional delivery system was designed to operate in partnership with the Tennessee General Assembly and local officials in the 16 county region known as East Tennessee. A HOT BALANCED MEAL helps us get through the day. For many seniors in our communities it helps them stay independent and living in their own homes longer. The Senior Nutrition Program provides a hot meal in a congregate setting where seniors also enjoy the company of others and participate in programs designed to educate, stimulate, and entertain. Hot meals can be delivered to the home of seniors who are unable to attend the congregate location. For some home-bound seniors this is a much needed human contact and assurance that they are OK for another day. Many volunteers and meal sponsors help make this program possible. The East Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability provides information and services to eligible persons who are disabled or age 60 and above.
The State Health Information Program (SHIP) provides information and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries Anyone needing information or assistance with Medicare/Medicaid/TennCare and supplemental insurance should call 877-801-0044.
Workforce Development provides assistance in employment search, skill building, training, and other services to adults, dislocated workers and disadvantaged youth. Click to

ETHRA can take you there! Our vans provide public transportation to rural residents of all ages. Call 865-251-0074 for Knoxville or 800-232-1565 for areas outside Knoxville
