Assistance is provided to the general public who calls the Toll-Free Statewide number: 1-877-801-0044. To speak directly with a SHIP Counselor you may call 844-887-7447.
Explanation of Services
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a federally funded program that provides unbiased counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers. SHIP is a free service and does not promote or endorse any insurance company. SHIP Counselors can help with understanding Medicare and insurance plan benefits, compare Medicare Advantage Plans, Supplements, and Part D coverage options, help resolve billing issues or suspected fraud and abuse, and screen and submit low-income applications that help with Medicare costs Whether you are new to Medicare or a seasoned beneficiary, SHIP counselors and certified volunteers can help.
